Dress Code Policy Effective Wednesday, January 13, 2010, we will be strictly enforcing the following additions to the District Dress Code Policy #5132: The purpose of this dress code is to enhance the educational climate at Monmouth Regional High School. In order to support a positive learning environment, the dress code must be conducive to learning, self respect professionalism, and a sense of responsibility. All headgear will be removed upon entering the building. This includes, but is not limited to: hats, headbands, bandannas, wave caps, or other head coverings (except for religious purposes), metal chains, jewelry or accessory articles that have the potential to be used as a weapon. See-through blouses, halters, bare midriffs, spaghetti straps, tank tops and sleeveles undergarments, muscle or basketball shirts without undershirts, blouses tied at the midriff, and/or any shirt, skirt which displays excessive nudity such as cleavage, skin above/below the waist are not acceptable. Micro-mini skirts and short skirts are not acceptable. Skirts/shorts must be no shorter than six (6) inches above the knee. Torn, ripped, or slashed pants/clothing, tights and/or revealing clothing (spandex, bike pants etc) will not be permitted. No pajamas or beach attire are to be worn. This includes lounge pants. No underwear can be worn as outerwear. Undergarments should not be exposed. Pants worn below the hips exposing undergarments are also not acceptable. No slippers are to be worn. Exemptions to this dress code are school approved athletic uniforms, at the discretion of the Principal/designee.
