Mr. Joseph Nappi

Mr Nappi is in his 16th year teaching history at Monmouth Regional High School. He is currently the advisor to the Key Club, and a co-advisor of the Student Council. Mr. Nappi is a Museum Teacher Fellow with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. He is a prud member of Phi Alpha Theta, the New Jersey Council of Historical Educators, The Center For Human Rights Holocaust and Genocide Education (CHHANGE) at Brookdale College and serves as Monmouth Regional's district representative to the Kean University Diversity Council on Global Education and Citizenship. In 2005 Mr. Nappi was awarded the Ida and Jeff Margolis Award for excellence in MultiCultural Education. In 2010 he was nameds as a distinguished Educator by the US Navy.  In 2010 he was selected as Monmouth Regional's Teacher of the Year. In 2015 Mr. Nappi was selected by the Jewish Foundation of the Righteous as an Alfred Lerner Fellow at Columbia University. In 2017 he was awarded the Dr. Frank Kaplowitz Outstanding Human Rights Educator of the Year Award from Kean Univerisity and in 2019 was selected as a Museum Teacher Fellow by the United States Holocaust Museum.  He is currently teaching sections of Holocaust Genocide and Modern Humanity (a satellite class from Kean University), and United States History 1 at Monmouth Regional.
